Well I'm glad that any employment situations were resolved positively. That said...
It sure ain't your father's P&G.
And I know I sound like a closet socialist, but I'm sorry, every time a once-proud-now-can't-suck-enough corporation lays off employees like this, I think they should have every right to do so, but as I mentioned on the Enron thread, they should have to first spend a year at Lucasville being violated daily. That way, at least the decision to lay off would have to be made carefully.
